Where To Buy Pet Window Screens?

Any idea where to get pet window screens for sliding windows and top-hinged windows in Bangkok?

Something like this:

http://www.exclusivescreens.co.uk/prodpage.asp?ProdID=267

http://www.petscreenkit.com/

I tried to get velcro from a hardware store and stick a piece of plastic mesh over it but it isn't sturdy enough. Too bad my apartment does not have window grilles because it would have been easier to attach the plastic mesh over the window grilles.

Any idea guys? Would be grateful if someone could find it for me. Willing to pay money to someone who can read and speak Thai to search for products like this in Thailand.

I am not looking for mosquito net screens. They are too thin and will be torn apart by my pets in no time.

What kind of pets do you have?

Use the old type of mosquito net screens made from aluminium frame and aluminium mesh. I am sure they are stronger then the plastic pet screen that you have specified.

Even if I have a strong mesh... I am not sure how to secure it onto my window frame. Any ideas?

The contractor would be able to suggest type of frame and mesh panels to suit your window and door types. You cannot DIY such screens.

If sliding screens are proposed, tell the contractor to include lockable latches so that pets cannot scratch open them.

I need something that won't require drilling. I live in a rented apartment and I do not wish to damage the existing window frames.

Are those aluminium sliding windows? If so, there would be a thin raised track on the inside for placing a sliding mosquito net screen. Not drilling required.

You can also ask the contractor for their strongest aluminium mesh as pet screen.

I have 1 sliding window and 2 hinged "push out" windows. Thanks for the contact.

The 2 casement windows will need drilling (to the existing window frames) to install hinged mosqito net screens that open onto the inside.

I am surprised why the property owner has not installed such screen before leasing to prevent mosqitoes from getting into the house after dark.

You can notify the owner that you will install the screen using your own money. I am sure he or she will not object.
