Cambodia Still Lousy For Thai Visas

Just updated my non-immigrant B at Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh. Service there still not good and expensive, but at least it is a 'sure thing' with little scrutiny of the documents and no wait.

I gave them Thai work permit, my company registration, tax returns, everything they might ask (they did not ask, did not care) but still could not get a 1 year multiple visa (even though it showed this option on the price sheet on the window). I got a 1 year in Kuala Lumpur last year and they are still the best place in my opinion. busy and long wait, but very helpful and professional.

so if all you need is a 3 month single entry, go to PP. Price was US$65. One year would be US$175 for 1 year multiple entry but they refuse to give these at present.

very grumpy staff, my Cambodian staff agreed with me on this ... said the visa staff were rude to them on the phone.

visa hours are: apply from 9-11 in the morning, pick up the visa following day at 3-4pm.

I think yours is the first report on getting a B visa there.

There have been reports that they had gotten more friendly for tourist visas and one for and ED visa..

You can't go by the price list because they also serve Cambodians who might be able to get one for business trips to Thailand.

The Thai consulate in Phnom Penh are still issuing double entry tourist visas. I made a point of speaking to my agent this evening, in light of some negative reports we have seen lately, to see what is happening.

It's still business as usual on the visa run tour via Poipet.

That may be, but dealing with these dreadful people at the embassy still makes it an undesirable place for visa run on my list. Even my Cambodian staff complained about the embassy staff (and they are fellow Cambodians). If you happen to be in PP, OK it is not time consuming.

Well, for people requiring double entry tourist visas we have to take the good with the bad and go anywhere they are available. Right now we have a choice of 2 places, but for how long nobody knows.

The visa run tour to Poipet is a great option for people not wanting to go to the consulate to do it themselves.
