Work Permit And Visa Query

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone can help me. I've got a non-imm B single entry, and on monday my school will be sending off for my work permit. Does anyone know roughly how long it takes to get a work permit? I'm thinking about going home for 2 weeks at the very end of April, but if my work permit hasn't been processed by then then i can't leave the country and come back, right? I presume once i have the work permit i can get my single entry extended and can therefore leave the country and return using the same visa/ wp?

Thanks

For a school it doesn't take very long. I would count on a few days to 1 week.

When you are on an extension you will need a re-entry permit to travel out of the country and return. Without one you would have to apply for a new visa and extension of stay all over again. The re-entry permit you can get from immigraiton for 1,000 baht (single) or 3,800 (multiple, valid for 1 year)

Ah ok thanks. Does the re-entry permit take long to get? Or is it simply a case of going to immigration and getting a stamp?

One photo and TM 8 filled out. You will get it in one visit to immigration. How long it takes will depend upon how busy immigration is that day.
