I wish to leave my job as an English teacher at a government school. Myself and the boss had a big dispute so I don't want to return to the school. Will my visa be cancelled just by leaving the country? And how should I cancel the work permit? After being treated badly,I no longer wish to have any contact with the school, it'll be better to do things myself.

It is your employers resonsibility to notify the labour department that you are no longer working. You don't have to anything. You can keep your work permit book or do anything you want with it.

As soon as you leave the country your extension of stay is canceled unless you have a multiple entry visa. If a visa it will be good until it's experation date.

My visa is a non O extension, I'll apply for another non O in Laos because I'm married to a Thai.

Is your extension based upon work or marriage. If it's marriage you don't have to leave and get a visa.

Or you could change over to a marriage extension if you can meet the requirements.

The school have been calling me up everyday, making threats about me breaking the law by not returning to the school. I've already left the country to obtain a new visa(non O) in Laos. They still haven't cancelled my work permit. The boss says that by law I should return the work permit and sign forms.
