Posting Internationally - Is This Usually Expensive?

Featured Replies

I posted a 1kg parcel the other day to Dubai and it cost approx. THB 1,100. Considering that the value of the contents were only THB 600 I thought this to be a bit too excessive.

Is posting stuff overseas generally expensive in Thailand? I know that in Australia (at least on ebay) you can get a flat rate of AUD 20 to post it anywhere in the world.

I am intending on posting presents to friends and relos back home - does anyone know of a cheaper delivery company/althernative? Maybe it was just a communication error on my part with the person at the post office.

If you was posting that parcel with EMS that the cost is correct. Instead of using EMS, just use regular Mail and bring the parcel to the Suvarnabhumi Airport Post Office and It would send directly put of Thailand and reach the destination faster than using EMS!

Cheers.

I suspect that the postage FROM Dubai would have been much higher..................:o

Must have been EMS & I wouldnt use that service again....waste of good som tam money. :o
