frankpelagic Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 My beautiful Thai GF, who I brought to Australia, was, I just found out, being sorted out by a scruffy truck driver behind my back. I am having her temporary residents visa chopped off as soon as possible, but it is likely she will be back in LOS before I can get there in about 6 weeks. We have a joint account with the Bangkok bank, and there is only her money in that, which of course I won't touch. But, does anyone think she would have a chance of getting a loan from that bank, which would become my debt? I will go into the bank when I return, but she is crafty.
stevenl Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Just the joint account would not make a loan she makes on that account your loan. You would have to sign for a loan in your name as well. So I would not worry if I were you.
Syl Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 I would say don’t worry yourself about it, the chances of her getting an unsecured loan is very small, even if she did manage to do it, it would take more then a mouth to be approved. Syl.
BusyBee123 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 thai banks look at a farang and close their books to loans so no worries, she cannot get anything in your name. How about getting her to get a loan and you <deleted> off with all the money? pay back time.
