Hello, all expats.

Yesterday i've got a car accident in Pattaya.

I have parked my car at the road. And when I back, i saw someone have broken it. - wing, fornt light and bumper broken. And no one around.

I put all remains in the back, and go to the office, where i rented car. I have Class-A car insurance for that car of course.

They told me following :

1) You have to pay 8000thb deduct.

2) When our contract is finished, you will get your 5000thb security deposit back (contract finishing in two weeks).

3) and ! you have to pay new rent for a new car. E.g. forget about old contract, and those two weeks, that remain.

Are they right? I believe they must give me same new car till the end of the contract. And deduct can't be higher than security deposit.

What are your opinions, gents?

Thanks alot in forward.

Ask to see boss. If boss accommodates you and he is in police uniform, tell him you will be back later and leave town.

You need to read your contract and it will state what the maximum amount of the deductable is in the event of an accident. Normally it is the same as the deposit, so in your case 5,000.

You should not have to hire a new car and lose what is still remaining on the other contract, they should give you another car.
