I bought a Kodak camera a few days ago and the camera promted a "format memory card". I did then afer taking a few photos it said the same. I took it back to the shop and they tried another memory card and it did the same. They gave me a new camera, which was fine until today and it's saying hte same, "format memory card". How do I format the card without losing photos? Can anyone advise if it's the camera's problem ot not? They gave me a brand new memory card when giving me the new camera.

Thanks

Neeranam you cannot format the card without losing the data on the card. I can only think that there is something wrong with the actual camera rather than the card. If you have taken some pictures already and you can view them then Its not the card. Check the card is firmly in the slot and the card is not locked. Good luck :o

If you dont want to lose your photos you want to copy those photos to pc or thumb drive then format it. What tpe of card your using?

if you use SD card just connect it using the card reader. NOT WITH CAM

maximum if use Windows to format disk some times it not Good.so use dos Command for all type of Formats.

Start-----> run

then in that type cmd

then it will open the commad prompt

Then you type following

format k:

(for example i am usinh k.you type the drive letter of card in pc instead of k then put : symbol)

click ENTER

then it say insert new disk for k: and press ENTER when ready

then you click enter

then it will start to format that card.

it start from 0% till 100%

After reaching 100%

it ask you to enter name for the card you type name then enter

then it show full details of card it become to normal mode how you start

This is also one type of guide for you. because i am not sure with your problem
