March 7, 200917 yr Hi, I've got piles of old photos from my pre-digital camera days which I would like to have scanned and turned into JPEGS (or whatever) in order to avoid the inevitable damage/loss which occurs with photos. Can anyone recommend somewhere that will do this? I have access to a scanner at work, but obviously I want the scans to be the best possible quality... So basically; how, where, how much? Thanks!
March 8, 200917 yr Buy your own scanner and do it at home. If you have some other people do it for you - it will probably cost as much as the scanner - considering the amount of photos you have to scan.

I'm still here in the States for a bit, but a word of caution. You need to ask specifically about the quality of the scans. Don't assume that a professional place necessarily will use the best quality scanner or pixel ratio. I assume from your post they are prints...not quite so much of a challenge. If they happen to be slides, look for someone with a dedicated slide scanner, not just a scanner with an adaptor. There is no comparison!
March 9, 200917 yr Author Hi, thanks for the replies. Yes they are prints. I never really thought about buying a scanner, could be an option I suppose.... Any firm ideas on costs/shop suggestions in BKK?
