March 8, 200917 yr my modem hasnt worked for 2 days. maxinet. i went into the settings [this was set up automatically with belkin and clicking tt&t setup, just put in password] worked great for a couple of days but since yesterday not working or extremely slow as in an hour to load i remembered when someone from tot helped set up my tot connection [using tot modem] and i had a problem with slow to AMX. he said always set the MTU at 1428 if you are accessing sites out of thailand. i went into my new belkem modems setup and saw the MTU was set at 1454. it said "Do not make changes to the MTU setting unless your ISP specifically requires a different setting than 1454." well this wasnt working and the max people were no help on the phone. so i tried MTU 1428 [thinking i can always set it back] and now its flying questin, since i know nothing of modeums what is this MTU and is there anything else i should be looking for? thanks in advance just checked speed test. 4,500 before this it wouldnt even register Edited March 8, 200917 yr by Lost in LOS
