Has anyone or business tried importing fine wines from Europe to Thailand. I notice how expensive wine is here and assume that has to do with high import duty.

Has anyone tied to import wine - Is it a difficult market to get into?

I know somone in this business, but it is not an easy one.

Import duty is high and import permits are needed. That being said it is not impossible, the person I know doing this is a HK citizen, but been living in Thailand for many years.

Good luck , it would be nice to have some decent wines at decent prices - The Australien $ is now low against the baht so I would have hoped to see cheaper wines from that area , but I expect it just means more profit for the importers .
