I have just obtained a new 12 month muti entry non imm B visa. When does the 12 months validity begin, is it from the date of issue from the Embassy, or from my first entry into Thailand?

From the day of issue. The visa ends on the date stamped at utilise before **** or use before ****

Note that when you leave and re-enter Thailand just before the visa expires you get another 90 days of permission to stay, so in essence 15 monhts for the price of 12.

Date of issue, the visa sticker has "enter before" date in it (one year from issue date).

Arrive thailand before that date and receive normal 90 days stamp from immigration.
