I've never faxed something before, I am given a number which looked like this +1 (408) XXX-XXXX. Do I need to include that 408? Why is it in bracket?

Also, is there somewhere I can use a fax machine in BKK city center?

that no may be area code. first check that country code then add the no after the bracket. i think may be some network need code before counrty code if u fax to other countries. like 007 or 008

most internet shops have a fax machine... enter all the numbers without the bracket... 408 is indeed California :o

in the shop they'll also know how to enter an international number. Over a normal phone in Thailand it would be 001 1 408.... etc, 001 is the international prefix. On a cell phone you can just dial +1 408 which works no matter which country you happen to be in when making the call...

Yes, that includes parts of Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Cupertino, and I think some of San Jose.

Remember to dial an international acces code, such as 001 if you are using a telephone.

That means that you would dial "001-1-408-XXX-XXXX".

If you are dialing from Skype then +1-408-XXX-XXXX will get you connected.
