on my new acer computer my speakers stopped and said no speakers installed . i checked the device manager and the sound drivers and several other drivers [including my cpu] had red check marks. i updated the drivers but they all said the driver was the latest but they were not working. Error #37. after talking to service etc without luck i searched the internet and found this was a common error on acer with vista. One guy did he research and found the fix on a thread and it worked for everyone who tried so i tried it. worked great and easy. here it is in case you are having the same problem
