chuchok Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Struth! At what time of the year did this happen?
PeaceBlondie Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Amazing. It's like the Texans who don't believe that Galveston Bay could freeze over, but it did, once, before the great hurricane. But hail can occur when it's 35 degrees Celsius. How fast did it melt? Great photo.
Ajarn Posted January 16, 2005 Author Posted January 16, 2005 Struth! At what time of the year did this happen? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would love to say, " On this date, in 1988...." , but I can't remember for sure.. I seem to remember it happening near the end of the rainy season, like in Sept.? Pretty common to get some strong and unstable weather during that period of change-of-season. I do remember it was quite cold for awhile afterwards, but can't remember how long the stuff lasted. Long enough to have a hailball fight with a neighbor, anyway I was a smoker then, so some details are a bit hazy, perhaps
cdnvic Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Cold? That's all relative. I complain about getting chilly riding home on a January night in CM, but then I spend a winter at home in the warm part of Canada and get this: I won't ever complain about CM cold again cv
PeaceBlondie Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 An old friend from Houston has returned to northern Michigan after decades of absence. She says the other night, it got down to twenty below. That's Fart-in-hat degrees.

The colouring is superb in a grey, morose sort of way...the sky has just got that minute hint of colouring. Montreal?
cdnvic Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Victoria actually(Pacific Coast). Similar architecture, about 1/10 the size. (350,000) Snows once a year for 2-3 days then goes back to being rainy and 12c the rest of the winter. cv
