Featured Replies

the title says it all...I'd like to try some of the features, but as soon a I leave the hotmail area it all switches Thai.

I changed my location in the control panel to the US already...still everything in Thai

If i recall rightly, the answer to this is to go into internet options and delete all your biscuits, browsing history and all that stuff.

IMHO the culprit is the IP address which always identifies you as THAI user and thats why they offer you the 'Thai service'...

You can change your location to any country but the IP will reveal where you are.

The same happens with Google. My sons Gmail is set to Thai and when he use my computer to check his email and logs-out -

everything is displayed in Thai. I close the browser, restart it and everything is back to normal. But Google gives you the language choice even if you have a THAI IP address.

That's because you have a Thai ISP.

I use Windows live in English, and installed it by downloading it from a Google link. I didn't use my hotmail links because I find them a pain in the neck, apart from sometimes appearing in Thai.

E.G there is a "Windows Live Hotmail screen", which is different to the 'Windows Live" screen. The Hotmail screen only accommodates, Hotmail email, whereas the "live screen" will coordinate all your email accounts. But Hotmail will not tell you how to get to the "live Screen".

Then there are two versions of Windows messenger - one is "Windows Live Messenger" and the other is "Windows messenger" It's all bloody nightmare, as they use the expression "live" for both systems, and they don't explain anything properly.

Then, when you have finally installed Windows Live, Just try to set up another email (Not Hotmail) in the Windows Live email screen. You will never understand their instructions, and you will have to Google for help.

And, as you say, everything from the Hotmail development team is in Thai, because you have a Thai ISP, regardless of where or what you registered as your home country, or whether you use Hotmail in English. I actually set up my original Hotmail A/c in England, so there is no reason for them to send me this shit in Thai.

No other email providers, Gmail, Yahoo or whoever do this kind of thing.

Microsoft sucks, but I have to confess that once set up, their Windows Live is better than Google's Thunderbird. Strange thing is that all my ingoing and outgoing Hotmail emails take much longer to process than their Gmail equivalents. And on my lap top, I can rarely download any attachments to hotmail messages, but no problems with gmail.

Happy emailing :o
