Sorry if my spellings wrong but a friends suggested that while close to Bangkok that I should go to a place called Chonburi... anybody every been there? Whats it like? I enojoy most of Thailand but would my friends 2 kids enjoy themselves there or is it mainly just site seeing??

they will enjoy being on the Pattaya beach.

chonburi is a province ,pattaya is there ,sattahip ,sri racha ,jomtien, yes some nice areas to visit and plenty of things to do for everyone.......... alot of bargirls and vice there in pattaya is biggest problem if you dont want your friends kids in an area like that....but some really good hotels there too........your friend might be telling you about kanchanburi too by the sounds of it (my spelling is prob wrong too) its more of sight seeing place ,its where the river kwai is remember from the film bridge over the river kwai...this would be closer to bangkok
