Can anyone give me some info on hotels and bars in songkla, I've got to be there Sunday night.

I can recommend the Pavilion Hotel in Songkhla town, handy for the bars, and it's sister hotel near the beach, The Rajamangala Pavilion. Both are comfortable, though the Rajamangala is a little more out of the way. Not very familiar with the Songkhla bars so can't give any recommendations.

Agreed, the Pavilion is probably the best all-around choice. From there go one block west and walk north up Srisuda Rd. to find the bars. Just don't expect too much . . . .
