Hello all,

I am looking to improve my thai, when it comes to formal / business oriented conversations.

Can someone please recommend a good thai school specifically for learning business thai.

One basic requirement - I have to work full-time(based in ChongNonsi area), so the classes have to timed after 6.00pm or on weekends.

Please advice suitably.

Thanks to all.

Cheers,

Gautam

Me too. It appears that there's a real gap in the Thai teaching market here.

Someone who has been in business (semi/retired), or someone in a university studying phd or similar having had business experience would be well positioned to offer these services. In my case, the "class" could be driven from newspaper or company annual reports or similar - not necessary to come armed with a lesson plan.

I'm going to Baan Aksorn near Soi 33. They have business classes; reading, writing (if you don't want to do it in phonetics) and speaking.

Check out my other post on this subject.....

What you will find in the classes...

I’m a friendly and enthusiastic native Thai teacher who uses a communicative approach to teach with the emphasis on speaking.

Classes will be small. The maximum class size is 6.

You will be able to listen to Thai conversations and to practice speaking in pairs or in group. You will have lots of opportunities to practice speaking in Thai with other students and the teacher. You will also have chances to revise your Thai grammar and to improve your pronunciation. You will develop your vocabulary used in business situations, improve your competency at expressing ideas & opinions, gain a comfortable understanding of spoken presentations, and be able to adapt to a range of business scenarios including presentations, negotiations, telephone conversations and meetings. You will also learn the appropriate use of business jargon and idioms and their use in everyday business language. Interactive activities in class such as role-plays, simulations, and presentations will be an important part of this class.

Location: Ladprao 71, BKK

Mind you: The course is not really that beginning. You should have some basic knowledge of Thai language. We will practice mostly on listening, speaking and pronunciation. We will also do a little bit on writing.

I have some materials but the learner has the upper hand in determining what he/she wants to learn, so kindly give me topics that interest you or you need to work on.

I shall tailor-make lessons which best suit your needs.

The class starts on May the 18th, 2009 -10:00-12:00, 2 days a week (Monday and Wednesday)
