That hurts the other people who actually need to make a living. ALso, there is an over-supply of every business in Pattaya. During the peak of high season, like now, it looks great, but show up throughout much of the year and you will wonder how anyone keeps food in their stomachs. What do you do in Samui? Pattaya is far cheaper to live in, about price of leases, house rental, id you live on the west side of sukhumvit, and as you have been here 10 years, you are used to Thai style, I am sure that you could be very happy with a 12,000 baht per month 2 bedroom 2 bathroom house in a secure moo ban close to town. schools[4 year old] Sorry, no kids, but look here: AKSORN EDUCATION Pattaya-Naklua Road 119/1 M. 5 Pattaya City, Chonburi 20260 phone: 428-938, 370-469, 370-472 AKSORN PATTAYA Soi Buakhao 350 M. 9 Pattaya City, Chonburi 20260 phone: 422-668, 720-450 AKSORN TECHNOLOGY PHATTHAYA Thepprasit Road 189/30 Moo 11 Phatthaya City, Chonburi 20260 fax: 300-165 ph.: 300-164 AKSORN THEPPRASIT Thepprasit Road 189/17-18 M. 12 Pattaya City, Chonburi 20260 phone: 412-118 ARUNOTHAI SCHOOL Soi Arunthai, Central Road 430/1-2 M. 9 Pattaya City, Chonburi 20260 phone: 373-334, 373-332 MARYWIT SCHOOL Sukhumvit Road 137/32 M. 2 Pattaya City, Chonburi 20260 fax: 221-927 phone: 222-477, 221-927 TANTARAK SCHOOL Soi S.S. pluto_manibo
I also left Samui for Pattaya, after 3 yrs on the Island....I came to Pattaya in 1997. Pattaya as well as Samui sure has changed a lot. You will have a nice change of life and appreciate all the amenities of a medium sized city, being close to Bangkok, Rayong, Koh Samed, Koh Chang..and soon the new airport. I drove down to Smaui for a visit after 7 yrs of absence....I was shocked to see how many foreigners and how crowded and over developed the place had become...It looked like some Spanish resort....Anyhow Pattaya is definetely no Paradise but there is a lot to do, living is substantially cheaper, lots of supermarkets, movie theaters, restaurants etc...The schools in the area are quite good, since a lot cater to the expat community. I am sure you will enjoy the diversity after 10 yrs on the Samui coconut plantation....I have had few regrets since I left....
