Non O-a Multiple Entry Based On Retirement

Featured Replies

My non-immigrant O-A visa based on retirement , multiple entry, expired on Feb 6, 2009 but was extended by a border crossing to 28 Aug 2009. Does this mean that the visa itself was extended or must I apply for a new O-A retirement visa before 28 Aug 2009? The most recent stamp says visa class Non-O-A admitted until 28 Aug 2009. Also what kind of documents are needed, other than the letter from the US embassy, to prove income when my income is based on monthly retirement and a yearly annuity deposited in a savings account? I have no money deposited in a Thai bank.

Help is appreciated. Thank you. I did read the topics here but I am not quite sure how they apply to my situation.

Sorry we need to clarify some terms here.

1. You "visa" expired on Feb 6, 2009

2. Based on the visa you received a 12 month "entry stamp" until the 28 Aug, 2009

It is the entry stamp that is the critical part now.

At the beginning of August you will need to apply to for an Extension of Stay at your local immigration office,

at that stage you will need the letter from the US Embassy to certify your monthly income.

Most offices like to see a savings account with a small sum of money coming and going

to show what you live on. It does not need to be the full 65K a month.

If you need to travel outside Thailand in the meantime, make sure you get a Re-entry Permit

from Immigration to keep your current stay, until the 28th Aug, alive.
