Hi Dave - Boo or any other 'Techy' out there that might be able to help me.

I purchased the CAT CDMA modem thingy (no real idea about it but couldnt get internet elsewhere where I am living in Samui). My connection is slow, but I am just happy to have one. What I really need help with is getting it to work with Peer to Peer (P2P) software like UTorrent and BitTorrent as I cant open ports / configure router. What I have seen so far in the forums is that there is no router for me to configure or open ports on.

Any ideas would be very, very appreciated.

Thanks,

Jessica

Use Vuze, don't change anything, and just let it run. It works over CAT CDMA. Works for me, at least.

I don't know about these other BT clients, my experience has only been with Vuze. You can set Vuze to use the "classic" interface, which is pretty much a must - then it looks exactly like Azureus. If you can't figure that out I would recommend Vuze's predecessor Azureus - you can still find it for download online.

BTW this is just a guess, but I think that CAT CDMA is a PPP connection directly from your machine. Therefore, there is no NAT (network address translation) like you would get on a router, therefore you shouldn't need to set up anything. It should just work. I am pretty sure there is no "firewall" built into the CAT modem either, that would be strange. You are on a direct connection to the internet.
