There was the famous ferry service from near Cha Am to near Pattaya but I don't know if it's still running. I don't think think there's a road connection but as I wouldn't go to Pattaya if they provided a Rolls, I could be wrong!

Nothing other than a private taxi (about 5 hours) or multiple buses (probably 7 hours requiring a taxi between the southern bus terminal and the eastern bus terminal in Bangkok to change buses) as far as I know...

Mini vans can make it in 6 hours or less depending on conditions.

It can be done in four hours in a private vehicle. In December my buddy and I left the Shell station on Phetchkasem at 10:25 am and were tooling down Pattaya Klang at 2::15 pm including a 15-min pee/snack break.

Southern bus terminal a pain in the neck, IMO.

The Ferry no longer runs, rumour has it that the authorities didn't want to encourage some of the crap that goes to Pattaya to come to Hua Hin.

That's what I heard and not my opinion :o
