Anyone have an opinion on which of the two islands they like best? I know Phuket is very built up but the terrain used to be so dramatic.

Far better places to go. All depends what you want out of your holiday and whether you need to fly in and out ?.

If you're looking for somewhere built up then Patong Beach, Phuket is for you. Koh Samui is built up fairly well too, lots of younger folks pass through there to get to Phangan.

Koh Chang is a quieter alternative to both.
