Any updates on this one?

This idea is trotted out every time a military controlled government is installed. How quickly it is shelved depends on how quickly Singapore pays off. It is a game that has been played for over 30 years and Singapore must be sick of it but they have a lot to lose.

I saw a recent article about this that was very interesting. What an amazing project this would be for Thailand's economy if it ever happened. So many countries have much to gain or lose from this. I can only imagine what is going on behind the scenes to keep this from happening!

The sticking point is the generals that have bought up all the land along the route and now want silly prices for it.

Put it in the 'not in your lifeftime' category of future construction projects.
