I am considering divorcing my wife. The divorce will be smooth as I am a lowly English teacher with little in the way of assets. We have agreed on who gets what. What I want to know is after getting the divorce at the amphur, what do I need to do in order for the Embassy and the UK to recognize it? I haven't had my wedding certificate deposited in the General Register Office if that makes any difference.

Keep a copy of the divorce certificate in case you ever need it, e.g. marrying again. That's it.

Married in Thailand, recognised in the UK; divorced in thailand, recognised in the UK. There is no need to notify the embassy.
