Push the 'lock' button on top (or bottom if you have a nano) till it shows orange. Then push it back. Hold down both the top of the click wheel and the centre button until it resets.

This also is valid for my 60Gb Ipod. There indeed is a very clear support article on Apple's site. Needed a couple of times in the 3 years I own my Ipod.
