3g Or Similar Mobile Broadband Connection... ?

Featured Replies

It is possible that i will be coming out to visit my wife and her family... The live in a small town just north of Saraburi in the Petchabun providence...

What is the best solution to get the fastest and "more importantly" RELIABLE internet connection in such a rural area...

It is also likely that we will be traveling around to do some touristy type stuff as well so being able to stay in touch with the internet while in remote locations is going to make or break trip plans easily...

I will be in need of a broadband internet connection so that i can manage bills etc as well as the possibility of some online courses that i would like to take to keep up with my studies while i am away...

I have a 3g phone (Blakberry Storm) and an Edge/Wifi (HTC Herald/Tmobile Wing) phone as well as a laptop that i can connect either phone to when necessary for internet connection...

As far as i understand it there is only 3G coverage in the Bangkok and Chonburi areas...

It needs to be RELIABLE so WiFi hopping is out of the question... =]

The trip would be either in July or August '09 lasting no less then one or two months but could always go longer (and usually does)... =]

Thanks for any help...

I have an EDGE usb modem with an AIS sim for when the broadband is down. The speed is not fantastic but it is relable and unless you are down loading big files you can do most other things. Its also cheap. I get 30 hours on AIS with 1-2 call for 100 baht. its pay as you go and you just top up from a 7/11 or other outlet. :o

Hello, I will be connecting to mobile broadband also. I thought of Hutch, but am wondering about what you write as EDGE usb modem with AIS sim? Can you give more details about it please? Where do you buy the modem and what does it cost? I am in Sa Kaeo province up in Ampur Ta Phraya.
