Red shirts threaten Pattaya rally if demand not met

The red shirts may move the rally site to Pattaya, coinciding with the Asean Summit, after today's deadline on their demand for the prime minister and privy councillors to step down, rally co-organiser Jatuporn Phrompan said on Thursday.

How sick is this?

I am neither on red or yellow side, I oppose both, but those morons do not understand what damage they will cause when going to Pattaya!

Don't count on the BiB....let's prepare for the total chaos if this is going to happen!

P*ss** off!

And don't forget that there will be 7000 US Navy and Marines here on leave from today through the 14th, looking for fun - NOT political statements! Turning them away could cost the merchants of Pattaya a LOT of money! Not to mention the risk of confrontation due to that interference. I certainly hope that would not happen; but it's tough to predict the reaction of 7000 young men who've been away from all of the ... umm ... attractions of a town like Pattaya for so long, when their access to same is denied.

Yesterday (Wednesday) I spotted a possible Red Shirt Base area between Second and Third Roads. Pretty large open area behind Big C, up from Bangkok Bank on Second road.

Lots of free water for the troops and also Red Shirts for sale!

Looks like they plan Hi Jinks at the weekend, hope they do not plan a march down Soi 6 as it may interfere with the sporting activities............................Super 14 Rugby that is.

Most of them think, that Thailand does not need any farang money at all........!

How otherwise one could explain "Thai rak Thai"?

Best option for us is to flee to the Dark side, when those reddies enter the city.

Not only that there was talk of them in an interview on Thai TV this morning, disrupting the airport services in an effort to screw up the Asian meeting. I am not red or yellow either, but it's pretty clear that they are intent on totally screwing up the Country.

Cheers, Rick

Crazy!

Lets be honest, us "darksiders" are suffering as well! Today while sitting by the pool enjoying the breeze a Helicopter flew overhead! creating quite a lot of noise for what must have been at least a minute! You'd think they would have the decency to fly over unpopulated areas - TIT :o

In some cities in other parts of the world, citizens are advised to have ready their emergency "cyclone kits" or "earthquake kits" if you live in a cyclone or earthquiake prone area.

Perhaps we should have a "riot kit" in case the worse happens and it is not safe (or convenient) to leave the house. Just remember to pack the gin or whisky, vodka, etc cos you'll need it :o

Of course they do. That's why they're threatening to come to Pattaya.

Their aim is clearly to create as much damage and chaos as possible, just as the yellow shirts did in November. They have as much right to cause chaos as anyone else.

Judging by all of your whinging, it's pretty obvious you're one of the many farang who over estimate their value in Thailand.

Perhaps Thailand is not your thing anymore.

Let it never be said that red shirts are not equal opportunity demonstrators.

We've had so much fun with the red shirts here in Bangkok, so we decided to be good neighbors and send a couple of them your way. Enjoy :o

Nationmultimedia reports no Red seen close to Pattaya. So you can continue your party with no interruptions.

Shows you how much they know then, Pratumnak hill is at a standstill due to rednecks, sorry, redshirts. :o

Just watching News on Thai channels on UBC, all have coverage on the situation.

Show video reports on happenings at Pratumnak Hill, mob trying to overturn Police support trucks, also mentions problems at Pattaya Nua/Big C site.

Looks like Asean delegates flew in via Choppers.

Glad I got my Songkran supplies in early!

:o

the red shirts are already in front of the entrance to the Royal Cliff with a truck. Don't ask me how they got there, actually there are road checkpoint all over Thappraya Rd. and Pratumnak Rd.
