Deadcert
Just wondering if the State of Emergency has had any effect on HUa Hin, are tourists still arriving or are people canceling their plans ... This latest debacle will just make a bad situation worse and surely will be another nail in the countries coffin !?
troopie
Just wondering if the State of Emergency has had any effect on HUa Hin, are tourists still arriving or are people canceling their plans ...This latest debacle will just make a bad situation worse and surely will be another nail in the countries coffin !? Down here, everything is normal. Shops are open, traffic is flowing without having to dodge troops or tanks, & as this is part of the 6-day Songkran weekend, the town is filled with Bangkok tourists. When you read reports of tanks & troops on the streets, remember (i) this has happened many times before, (ii) even if a coup happens, it won't change a thing, (iii) the Thai Army are good at coups but not so good at fighting, least of all when they don't know who to support, & (iv) unless you're near the Thai parliament/ Victory Monument, you won't notice anything different! Have a good Songkran (Thai New Year)!
hhfarang
There are riots every where here in Hua Hin... but the rioters are smiling and laughing, and throwing water instead of rocks and bottles!

PatinBKk
Posts about royalty deleted in accordance with the strictest ThaiVisa rule. OK...but just commenting on the whereabouts of royalty is not allowed???...having a house in HH it is a regular occurance to see royalty, its actually very hard to miss with the road being closed and all the coppers with their backs turned....just so I know for the future not to make any further comments as previous... Locturian
Yeah, nothing "dangerous" going on in Hua Hin. Not unless you are scared of water. My god this year was craaazy But good fun... Just hope traffic is going to be decent tomorrow...
