Can I Extend My Non Immigrant B?

Featured Replies

Dear All,

I'm a holder of a EU passport. At present, I'm doing an internship in Thailand and have a 90-day-non-immigrant B visa (but never applied for Work Permit) with single entry.

I would like to extend my stay in Thailand by 2-3 months and I was wondering if it is possibile to extend my visa by 90 days.

Anyone can help me, please :o

Thank you!

Willy

If by internship you mean officially registered school then yes, otherwise I'm afraid not. If you are working without a work permit........well lets not go there.

Thank you InterestedObserver.

Actually, I'm doing an internshìp in a Thai company.

If it is like you say, I suppose I will have to pass the border and get a tourist visa (for 2-3 times). :o

That would be the easiest thing to do. If you were to be employed by the Thai company then you would have options, but really not worth it for only a 90 day extension. You can get 90 days out of a single tourist visa, if you mean land border crossing then it's 15 days per entry.

Go to Vientianne before June 4th and you can get a double entry tourist visa free of charge. This would give 6 months with extensions and a border run in the middle.

You can read all about the penalties you may face when working without a work permit here: Ministry of Labour
