Check Your Maxnet Bill - Slight Screw-up This Month

Featured Replies

I went to a 7-11 to pay the usual 1070 baht printed on my bill. The guy scanned it and the till said 631.30 baht!

I queried this with him and he showed me the bar code, and sure enough it said 631.30.

So today I went to TT&T to find out what was going on - a special offer?, a change in rates?, a change in billing date?, etc - although nothing could explain the 1070 baht printed on the front.

As soon as I said "Something wrong with the bill" I could see by her face that I was the umpteenth person she's had to deal with.

The problem was that they'd printed someone else's details on the back of my bill. So I'd paid some Thai person's bill. It was only when I compared this month's bill with last month's that I could see that the Account Name above the bar code is normally my name and not this other name written in Thai characters.

There is a slight possibility of something nasty happening next month if Maxnet don't allow a bit of leeway for late payers: e.g. you pay your bill but it's someone else's and it's for the same amount so you don't realise anything's wrong. The person who gets your bill doesn't pay it, and you get cut off! So, maybe a good idea to check the Account Name if you pay by having the barcode scanned.

Edit:

I just noticed something else odd about this month's bill - it's totally in black and white, including the logo at the top and the adverts at the bottom. Looks like their printing went wrong and they photocopied the bills but got the backs and fronts out of sync. Plonkers! :o

Got to wonder does the bar code even send the e payment to maxnet.  Maybe someone has gone into the bill print bizz  :o  maybe the account name is the same on all of them.

Yes, there may be a scam going on here and this didn't even come from Maxnet!

The wrong account number on my bill is: xxxxx6478

Anyone else?

my bill is in black and white but the account number is correct.

Mine is correct.

Amount and account number check out!

Mine was also in Black and White but the account number was correct

Thanks for the info - that's reassuring.

Although this may be a set-up: get people used to a black and white bill, and then next month print them all with a fake bar code to an account in the Caymans. :o

I pay mine by direct debit

I paid one year in advance and received a 15% discount. But they still mail a bill every month to show it is paid up.

Hmm - that's a pretty good deal! I'll look into that.
