theoldgit
I got this email from Eva yesterday and whilst I like Eva I don't think their "from" prices are that cheap, you can get Etihad or Emirates flights for sub £400 for May.

But they are not DIRECT. If you are happy with a Middle east hop then don't bother with Thai or EVA because you will always get cheaper.

No they are not direct, but if price is important then a 20% saving is not insignificant and might be worth the stop.

Tigerman1
They are still not that cheap. This offer has been out for ages - weeks!!! You can fly cheaper indirect but you can also book EVA flights with teh likes of Opodo and some other websites cheaper than the EVA website. EVA is my choice of airline to BKK. The stopovers are usually quite short.. about 1 to 1half hours on most middle east airlines if you are flying to London. I dont know about you but I like to stretch my legs after 6 hours and it does break up the journey. A quick look around the duty free shop and they are calling you for your next flight to London. Well worth the lower price I think.

The thing I don't understand is, why Emirates charge 722 GBP for BKK to Birmingham return, for the same time scheduals, but in reverse. Any one know ? Under £300 inc tax form Manchester? Please tell me where you found that! I seem to be looking at around £450. Under £400 with Emirates from Birmingham though. And like you, i have noticed the good fares from Singapore I'm travelling from UK in october, and staying about 3 months. But due to work, i can't fix a firm date to book yet. I don't want to lose out on some of these good fares though
bluweyze
just a suggestion for anyone looking at EVA Air. join their frequent flyers club ( on the internet ) then you get access to club promotions even if you have never flown with them when you sign in on their website. I was wondering the same thing.I had to return to the U.K a couple of months ago and had to pay nearly £800.Several mates who were traveling from the U.K to Bkk around the same time were paying about £350 with the same airline.Seems a bit strange to me.
