I know some of you have covered ubuntu 9.04 but this is more or less towards the netbook version though. Last week in bangkok i decided to buy a netbook, I got a acer aspire d150 with a 10 inch screen, although its very useful it came with windows, after much searching and a posting on linux questions you can put a few distros on the aspire one. anyway basically you have to install the netbook version remix on a usb drive then boot from the usb drive. my experience so far is extremely positive wireless worked right out of the box, although the only annoying that I found was a start up menu that showed up called netbook laucher. for things like java you will still have to install ubuntu-restricted-extras though like other past ubuntu.
