Army to monitor red shirt rally Sunday evening

First Army Area Commander Lt Gen Kanit Sapithak said Sunday that the Army will closely monitor the rally of the red-shirted movement in Bangkok Sunday evening.

Kanit said although police did not request the military's help to deal with the rally, the Army would closely monitor the demonstration at the Phai Khiew Temple.

Anybody still in doubt as to who is running the country these days and since 2006? Haven't they got any Burmese or Cambodians to shoot at these days? No women and children to herd into squalid holding camps in the northern jungles?

Army move in without any request from, police, Governor or Abhisit.

Speaks volumes to those with ears to hear it!!! Sorry some of you guys are still not getting it, but the rest of us and the rest of the world certainly are.

Good luck with your anti-thaksin rants and paranoia. You will wake up one day and some of these goons will have enacted the most racist (against the majority of Thais who are not skin whitener junkies) anti-falang set of policies asia has seen in a long time.

Given that the army controls Thailand via a puppet government, that's hardy surprising. Why don't they show us really how well liked they are by having an election. Best way to get rid of the red shirts is to prove beyond doubt that the people don't support them.

Seems obvious to me too that Thailand is starting to resemble Burma. Funny thing is that the yellows have succeeded in deluding a few people here that their iron fist, and aims to curtail the popular vote, have something to do with 'democracy'

It's a funny old world.

I have no doubt who's running Thailand. Abhisit is not a real person. If this continues, I must go to Burma to look for jobs.

Even Sondhi has to say that if people wants revolution to make things better, say so. They can't say because nothing better is done.

They think after the shooting of soldiers on 13th April, the reds won't dare to come out again.

Koo, if you can't show a picture of a body, then you need to shut up about the "Shootings".

God hates the red shirts, which is why its raining today all over Bangkok. hehe

She said shooting of soldiers.

I don't know about that, I saw videos of reds throwing molotov cocktails at the soldiers and setting several of them on fire. I saw a taxi ploughing through the line and sending a soldier flying several meters into the air. There was a sound of gunfire, but I can't say I saw them shooting the soldiers. Quite possible, but I didn't see it.

People who did all those were not the real reds. They were the PAD+the blue shirt+the military's andriods from the future covered with human skin. And someone put red shirts on them. This is all today's truth (or truth today), because Jatuporn said so.

I call that Commedia dell'Arte

Commedia dell'Arte (Italian: "the comedy of art(of improvisation)") is a form of improvisational theatre that began in Italy in the 16th century and held its popularity through the 18th century, although it is still performed today. Performances were unscripted, held outside, and used few props. They were free to watch, funded by donations. A troupe consisted of ten people. Outside Italy the form was also known as "Italian Comedy".

Looks like rain interrupted Jatuporns rant. The only people listening are the propogandized reds now to the third party and PM wasnt in car and all the conspiracy nonsense. These dues used to accuse Thanong of being an out of control conspiracy theorist, well look at them now. It is cuckoo land

Even red sympathisers up country are starting to get a little embarrassed by it when you mention it to them. In short people believe what they saw ie red rioters goign beserk and the LPG tanker in the Din Daeng flats was a massive own goal.

The shame is that some of the red demands were reasonable but now the lunatic leaders are undermining all of these by idiotic and baseless claims that they cant substantiate even after weeks. The leaders cant even face up to admitting they lost control and werent every good leaders. Mind you nobody would expect the odious little Jatuporn to fess up to anything.

BANGKOK, April 4 (Xinhua) -- According to local media, the UDD leaders are confident that the scheduled mass rally on April 8 would "attract over one million people" and justify their calls for dissolving the coalition government and holding a new general election.

Numbers seem to be down a smidgen this month compared to last, also....

Did they even managed to show the clip of the PM's car that they were planning to show? Or perhaps they couldn't get it out of the video editing room in time?

Even the red sympathisers up north in the family's villages were quite disgusted by the red riot. Their reactions miorror the mentioned Ubon ones. The reds need to stop the conspiracy nonsense, stop the violence and get back to talking democracy if they want to recapture support. It will be hard with peopleliek Jatuporn mouthing off. He is despised by lots of people for non-politcal reasons to start with.

Guess 500 baht wasn't enough to cover the expenses to wade through all that rain today. :)

IMO,the great majority of the Reds are good people, they have some reason in demonstrating. It's time that the underprivileged classes in Thailand get some real help from who's at the helm, starting possibly from education.Somebody might tell the Reds that is not creating panic on the streets that they can achieve something useful.Their leaders, specially the fugitive, should be ashamed of what they are doing to their people and the country with blatant disregard of the responsibility they have.Sure the situation is complex ,but with a little goodwill from each side some improvement can be done straightforward.A Democratic Government needs a strong opposition to function properly too.I hope in reconciliation, and it can be done, soon as the Red Shirts start to dialogue with civil manners.I live here, and it's in my interests too to have a stable Government. And i want to be free to wear a yellow shirt or a red shirt if i like, and see the people on the streets smiling :) again.

Words, words, and more words. Do these jokers ever show any proof of anything at all? All week Jatuporn has been opening his mouth stating the video in question would be shown this evening to prove that Abhisit wasn't in the car. Again, all talk and no substance..much like his paymaster who claimed over 100 were killed during the Songkran riots. Nothing more than words. :)

Opposition legislator Jatuporn Prompan told the protesters gathered in pouring rain in the northern Bangkok district of Don Muang that they would "catch Abhisit's lies", raising a cheer from the crowd.

He said they had a video which disproved Mr Abhisit's recent claim that he was in a car which was attacked by protesters during the Bangkok riots, an incident the prime minister said had made him fear for his life.

Mr Jatuporn said the footage showed that Mr Abhisit was in another vehicle at the time. (AFP)

What picture do you want me to show?

Come on, you keep saying the army shot the reds, show us pictures of a red person with bullet holes, show us pictures of all the dead protestors brutally wounded by the awful army...

Until then quit posting that the army shot the reds, the army shot blanks at the reds.... get real.
