Residents at Pakarang Cape in Thakuapa gathered and were amazed by a giant egg spotted by a local fisherman. The egg is 47 centimetres long and 41 centimetres wide and is 900 grams in weight. It was spotted by a local fisherman, Maitri Yaifai. The man saw the egg while he was going out fishing near a stream where sea water meets fresh water, one kilometer from the ocean. It is near the Sarojin Hotel. Maitri admitted that he went deeper into the bush this time and spotted the huge egg in the bush. He was astonished and ran back to notice his wife and neighbor. The giant egg is now kept at his home. Some say it may be a crocodile egg, but they cannot confirm it just yet.

A Livestock official examined giant egg in Thakuapa.

Following our news report about a discovery of giant egg in Thakuapa by a local fisherman, Maitri Yaifai, the provincial Livestock Development chief Rawiwan Ying-wan-na-siri made a visit to the fisherman’s home to examine the egg. She remarked that judging from appearance, size, weight and surface, the egg is similar to an ostrich egg. She suggested that the egg is fermented using chemical liquid as the egg is beginning to smell. She said her office will provide the liquid. Ms. Rawiwan however pointed out that there is an ostrich farm in Muang Phang-Nga district. Asked if she has any particular advice for onlookers, she suggested that they do not touch the egg or eat it. The egg was spotted by Maitri while he was going out fishing in a pond near home and he alerted neighbors as it is particularly large being 47 centimetres long and 41 centimetres wide and 900 grams in weight

Giant mushrooms attract villagers in Phang-Nga.

Three giant mushrooms which popped up in front of a house in Kuk Kak of Thakuapa in Phang-Nga attracted neighbours to visit with some even superstitious hoping that the phenomenon will bring them fortune. The mushrooms are about 43 centimetres wide, but started to decay yesterday. The owner of the house, khun Patchareeya said she saw the mushrooms since May 13th and that they excited villagers as another villager discovered the giant egg the previous week. She however tried to persuade them not to be over superstitious as they attempted to make prayers seeking good numbers for the lottery. Some of them however claimed to have used the house number of Patchareeya to buy ticket numbers and won a lottery.
