Hi All,

I live and work in central Thailand, and each year my parents (in their early 60's) come and spend Christmas and New Year in Thailand with me.

This year, they fancy staying on Lanta for a couple of weeks. I am now looking to book their accommodation, but am not sure where would be best.

I've read about all the different beaches, and think they would be better in the south/central areas rather than right up North, as they enjoy peace and quiet over hustle and bustle. However, as they will be staying in one hotel for 2weeks+ I don't want to book them in somewhere that is totally dead either.

Their ideal budget is not exceeding 2000baht a night, but could stretch to 2500 given the peak season.

So far the favourite hotel is Lanta Ilmare, khlong nin beach. Does anyone have any feedback on here or any other recommendations?

The hotel should have a pool and also a fridge in the room where possible. AC and TV are not necessary, it doesn't have to be right on the beach but in easy walking distance.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to respond :))

I like Kantiang Bay View Resort. They have a number of different types of accommodations in the one resort. Beach front is 2200 (I believe...).

In April I stayed at the Kaw Kwang Beach Resort for 1,000 baht a night for 2 people. Very comfortable, nice dining area, pool, fridge in the room, a/c, tv, etc. See their site: http://www.lanta-kawkwangresort.com/

Also check their location on wikimapia: http://www.wikimapia.org/#lat=7.6448353&am...amp;m=a&v=2

Very popular with northern Europeans. Quiet, yet close enough to other resorts and restaurants.

Thanks Mr Brad for the info,

This hotel looks very nice. A couple more questions if you don't mind....... Is the beach this hotel on nice? And good for swimming? Are the other resorts and restuarants within walking distance or would they be a tuk tuk ride away? Thanks very much for your help :)
