Alarm On Sukhumvit Soi 35 Area?

Featured Replies

There is a loud car alarm or some sort of siren from the Sukhumvit Soi 35 area. This can be heard all over the area of Sukhumwit 18-24 and 29-35, and has been going on day and night for the past week. It was silent this morning for the first time since last weekend, but then resumed again this afternoon.

At the hotel at Emporium, this can be heard from the 30th floors and up, even on the 40th floors.

The security said that it is a car alarm in a Sukhumvit carpark, they said. They said that the owner of the carpark or the car are the only ones who can turn it off. The tourist police said the same.

Does anyone know what this is?

Who has authority over noises from private property that disturbs the whole area?

How can this be silenced and the peace restored in the area?

Really....never heard a thing and l live in the the 31-35 area.

Really?

The alarm cannot be heard in this building below the 30th floor, apparently because the buildings block it out, but the sound travels at the higher floors.

Now it is silent again, and hope it stays that way!!

It was only this week after the thunderstorm from last Sunday. It's surprising that someone wouldn't be able to turn it off, even over private carparks when disturbance is created in the surrounding area, like security or the police or someone else who should have authority to do this.

It's actually a Thaksin Alarm - it goes off every time someone mentions Thaksin on ThaiVisa...

Ooops - sorry :D:)

I've heard this alarm that you speak of. Some days it's going, other days it isn't. I assume someone has an ultra-sensitive alarm.

I don't think there is much you can do, save for wait by the car until its owner shows up and explain to them your frustration with the alarm!
