The Thai Embassy In Australia

Featured Replies

Over 4 months ago the Thai Embassy in Canberra sent representative to Thai Temples in Qld to renew Nation Thai Passports and fingerprints

These then needed to be sent back to Bangkok for replacement and renewal

I did not realise that this took 3 months to do, when I can get the same done in a same day service in Bkk

We have spent more money ringing the Canberra Embassy to see where the wife's Passport is, than the cost to renew the same passport, but when we ring we are put through to a recorder to leave details

In 10 days we have never had an answer to any message we have left

15 emails later and still not 1 reply

We then rang Bkk passport division and where told that my wife's passport was renewed nearly 3 weeks ago, and the tracking Number and renewal date given to us

10 days ago we sent this information to the Thai Embassy in Canberra as they do not seem to understand tracking numbers, and how to trace a passport

Still no reply

Is the Thai Embassy still operating in Canberra

Or may be on a go slow strike after all the bad press in Australia news

Any one know who we can contact for help ?

All our requests have fallen on deaf ears

Maybe the new policy is, after you go to live in Australia you are treated like a westener and we do not really want you back in Thailand

Can't speak for the Thai embassy in OZ.

But my sister, a dual Thai/OZ citizen, had her passport issued in three weeks flat through the Thai embassy in London.

Seems as if the embassy in canberra have stuffed something up, as you are correct, once they hit Thailand the application only takes a matter of days to turn around.

Sounds promising though, if the passport has been issued, it would almost certainly be heading back towards you shortly.

What you say is Western Logic

Not Thai Logic

Today 26th May we tried to ring the Australia Thai Embassy 4 times

No one takes the calls and just transfers to an Answer machine

Seems like Thai Embassies are the same the world over...my wife tried to phone the Thai Embassy in London many times, same thing answerphone that they never reply to.

These Embassies are supposed to provide a SERVICE for Thai people in a foreign country, God help any Thai national who really needs help. Somebody, somewhere needs to start kicking backsides.

Maybe a good Idea if Thai land starts using India residents to take there embassy phone calls

At least at Telecom yu get some one to talk to

Can't understand them

But at least you can try

I just deleted 3 duplicate posts. Just click the add reply button once and wait a bit.

You might try calling the consulate in Sydney and ask them if they can give you another number or call them for your you.
