Some questions need to be answered to help you

Which OS do you use?

How old is the HDD?

Is the HDD connected via a Hub or via direct connection to a PC USB port?

If Hub which brand?

--Does the Hub need external power?

You are connected via USB 2.0?

Cheers!

Try this - it might help:

- Turn on your computer and boot up windows.

- Plug in power to the external hard drive and turn power on.

- Connect the USB cable to the drive first and then to the computer.

- You should see a new icon appear in the system tray and the drive should appear in the Device Manager.

Thanks Webfact tried that but no Icon and not showing in device manager.

When I plug the USB in it powers up the HD but that's all it does

My other HD works on the same USB port

test it on another PC or notebook if possible.

Does the HDD spin when powered on?

Take the drive out and pop it it one of your other drive cases. It might be the drive controller of that case
