I'm trying to sell my Ford Ranger Wildtrak 4x2 and am wondering what sort of price is a realistic asking price.

I would have thought the 550K price, even with Ford depreciating quicker than Toyotas etc, is a good price bearing in mind the new price and excellent condition. Maybe 525k would attract more buyers?!

2nd hand pickup without Toyota or Isuzu badge in this market. Only if its financed with 0,- down. Sorry Expect 30% lost when you left the dealer in your new truck

450K would attract more buyers if they are interested, unfortuently not a good time to be selling and your model has now been superceeded along with neg international press about US motor industry snippets of which filter down to Thai media and are inturn no doubt interpreted as Ford bust. I think if you don't want a good kicking you have to keep for maybe 5years get the use out of it and then sell it up to the same price difference below you paid to the equivilent Vigo/DMAX, then probably a good buy for a Toyota/Isuzu inclined punter.

I think your asking price is ok. All depends of course on how quick you want to sell. Best chance is in finding a fellow foreigner, who won't care about the Ford badge - in fact may be attracted by it.

Anyway, it looks nice in the ad - perhaps some more pics would help though.

I will add some more pics if I re-advertise it. Ford is the healthiest out of the big x3 US car manufactures and although they initially asked the US govt for help, they actually turned down the money the govt offered them as they now say they don't need it.

And didn't Toyota recently announce record losses and aren't Isuzu part of GM?

Most farang aren't sheep like Thai's are (although quite a few are judging by the replies I've seen on here) and will buy a car for quality rather than because their neighbour/bro-in-law has one, the others didn't compare when I test-drove them, the Ford was a clear winner.

A similar Toyota or Isuzu with the same spec were around 50-60k more than the Ford and the Ford 2.5L has a variable turbo engine while only the 3L Toyota/Isuzu one's have. It's ridiculous to suggest I should be asking for over 200k less than I paid for it after only just a few months, I recently turned down a 500k offer which I am now thinking of accepting but 450k???!!!...now that's just silly!

Locally sold Ford is just a Mazda ripoff and it one of the slowest selling brands, behind Nissan, Mitsu and Chevrolet.

If in your orginal post you said been offered 500K can i get more, then the answer would have been take the money if its still available and as for Toyota recording losses, Isuzu part of GM most Thais this would not even register on the radar along with the fact that their products may be inferior to the opposition.

Toyota has 35% of the pickupmarket.

Mitsu is struggeling to keep 6-7 % of the pickupmarket with giveaway finance like 29900 down and 0,99% interest

Mazda, Ford, Tata, Chevy, any forgotten? try to give away financepackages to keep the lots/inventory down. 2nd hand, they are slow.

You seem to be comparing a Ford bought in Thailand to a fake Rolex? But what is it you are saying exactly?

Where are you going with this Plus? The guy is just trying to sell his truck - and by the looks of it, it's a good buy for the right buyer.

I didn't imply anything like that, maybe plus just read it that way. I was replying to kartmans comment about the US car industry and just highlighting that, although they also have problems like all car manufacturers at the moment including Toyota & Isuzu, they are in a much better position than Chrysler & GM (who own isuzu). I'm well aware the resale value of a Ford in Thailand is lower than Toyota/Isuzu purely because of the sheep mindset of Thai's (and Plus) who will only buy a Toyota or isuzu. When buying I looked at, and drove, x6 pick-ups and the Ford, IMO, was easily the nicest to drive and was much cheaper than a Toyota or Isuzu of a similar spec so I bought the Ford, easy choice. I know I'm fair game on TV, regardless of what topic anyone posts there are always idiots like plus with superior attitudes and with nothing better to do than to knock or ridicule the OP, water of a ducks back though, if he's happy sat at his PC all day alternating between watching porn and knocking people on thaivisa then thats fine with me!

The badge on the front is probably the only Ford bit on it, the rest is Mazda, however ,to shut all the mazda/ford knockers up i expect mazda will still be around when ford is long gone,.and myself id rather have a mazda/ford than a us built ford truck, check the ratings, ford are waaay behind mazda in the reliability ratings,,.my friend here exports truck parts, he sent a rear light for a ford ranger to a customer in the uk that jumped up and down saying " if i wanted a cheap copy from thailand i would have bought one " he soon shut up when my friend pointed out the ford ranger is made in thailand and if the light is a copy so is the truck,

Im afraid these manufacturers do take customers for idiots sometimes, i personally know of an old boy that in the late 80s that bought a new dodge colt as he thought it was dodge built in usa, the car is all mitsubishi,.nothing wrong with that but they sure dont publicise it,.

I personally would prefere a Ford or Chevrolet, before than a Vigo or Isuzu. In my Home country (Switzerland) they start to import Isuzus in the late 80ties. Nobody bought those ugly looking and noisy Isuzus in those days. So Isuzu was closing down withhin a year. Ford and Chevy has defenitively a better design. Japanese are good cars or trucks but they have in my opinion the horriblest designs. So if i would buy a Truck, i have to like it, therefore the later value for resales is not primary for me.

Check out the fuel economy and you will see that the Ford gets VERY good economy. As for myself, my last Toyota was a lemon that had a drastic thirst for diesel. That was my last Toyota. The older generation Fords had poor fuel economy (like Toyota) but the new common rail engines are VERY good.

All commonrail diesels are very good at fuel. Not much difference if same power, weight, transmission, hight, wheels, driver.

It was in a Thai motoring magazine which I no longer have. Isuzu and Ford were very close for number one and two. Nissan was number three and Toyota was number four. The three liter was a separate category and included the Mitsubishi 3.2 liter. Again Toyota came in last with Isuzu number one by quite a large a margin.
