What Is This Bird?

Featured Replies

The long balcony of my condo is taken over with sparrows, doves, squirrels, and other swooping critters.

I have a small balcony across the front, quite protected from the elements. On Wednesday, a nest with eggs appeared in a palm.

While the photo of the eggs is quite clear, the bird was photographed through my not very clean bathroom window as I didn't want to frighten it.

Does anyone know the name, habits, etc?

And is there anything (besides leaving it alone) that I can put out there to help?

A water source?

I guess it is too late to clean that bathroom window...

It's a Steak-eared Bulbul..

The Vulcan had the same bird/question a couple of weeks ago in this thread: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Birdwatchers-t262565.html

It'll be fine left alone

Thanks! I knew someone here would have the goods on this bird.

And from the wonderful photo in the other post, I see I can get quite close to take pictures.

Watching the chicks grow is going to be a treat.

Again, thank you so much for this :-)
