$us Salary Paid Into Thai Bank Or Home?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

i am about to relocate to bangkok, and i have a question about my salary. i am being paid in $US, should I open a local $US account, or should I have the money paid to my account at home?

I am reading alot of posts about difficulties transferring money out, and I will need to do this. Would it be easier for me to just have the money in the US, and maintain a small account in thailand for day to day stuff....

my employer is paying rent so i dont need large sums... and I am keeping my credit cards, so it would be easier to pay them (and the mortgage) if the funds were in the $US.

appreciate any advice from experience............
