Hi All,

I just bought an LG LCD TV. I connected my LG DVD system to my to my LCD TV via HDMI cable. Playing DVD's works fine , but when I change to my normal True visions TV channels I can't get the sound to play through my surround sound system. I understand that I will not get the same effect through the TV as my DVD player, but can I channel the sound to the surround sound speakers.

The manual is in Thai so I have no chance to even attempt to work this one out. Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers, Rick

I suggest that you Google for an English Manual over the net.

I've downloaded loads of manuals this way - everything from Sprinkler systems, to breathing machines, to TV's, sound systems and God knows what else.

Hi Mobi,

Thanks for the reply. I have been searching for the last hour and found loads of info , but no manual.

Can't you connect the UBC outputs to your surround system AUX inputs?

My UBC outputs are connected to my TV which in turn delivers the sound to my surround amplifier through the TV outputs. My DVD sound is connected straight to my surround system through an optical cable. My TV speakers are muted.

The 5.1 sound of my computer sound card goes into the 5.1 (actually 6.1) inputs of my surround system.

Thanks Sniffdog,

I will try this tomorrow and let you know the outcome. I am far from being an expert on this and I appreciate you help.

This site should provide you with a manual for any lg product.Don't choose thailand as your country because that will result in only thai language but I assume some other asian country will have the same model.

Thanks basjke,

I just got the English manual from the site you suggested. Your help is very much appreciated.

I will play with the system tomorrow when I will be slightly more alert LOL.

How did you get on today?

On the subject of manuals, I've been amazed what you can find on the net. It seems that just about every manufacturer has posted all their product manuals, including old and discontinued products/models. If you persevere, you will invariably find what you need.

I was also thinking about your problem. I agree with sniffdog, the UBC boxes usually come with two outputs - one for the TV and one for an external auxiliary, such as a sound system.

I was amazed too Mobi and the manual makes things a lot easier. I did what you suggested and things are working great now. Thanks very much to you all for your help
