Police Clearance In Thailand

Featured Replies

Just like to know what the proceedure is for getting a police clearance from the Thai police for a Myanmar citizen, which will be used for an Australian Spouse Visa application.

i.e...

What kind of documents do we need to bring, where should we go, and how much will it cost?

Thanks

I may have just found the answer here....

But is there any additional information I should be aware of, and does anyone know how much will it cost?

thanks again :)

Info here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/redirect.php...h%2Feprint.html

cool, thanks ubonjoe :D

sounds like this will be one of the least complicated things on our 'to do' list :)

I think you have a long to do list.

Best of luck and I hope it all works out for you and your bride to be.

thanks very much :)

i want to be as thorough as possible, and i've written very detailed statements about all the documents we're submitting. i've got stat decs from my parents and some friends who have visited us both in myanmar and thailand. i have photos of all of these people with us. i've been very organised, and i'm hoping that will make up for any of the myanmar (in)formalities that might let us down.

the other thing is that we converse in burmese (not english or thai) and, based on previous interactions with staff at the embassy and visa app centre, they do find this intriguing. it will require extra work (for translations), but could it's something that might just count in our favour (fingers crossed). on the other hand, it may mean waiting while they send everything over to yangon (i hope not....!)

Maybe the Myanmar factor will help. It is not exactly a popular country at the moment.

Once you get the application in the worst part comes afterwards and that is the wait for approval.

But I have faith that you will get it. Keep us informed on your progress and the end result.

Good Luck

Joe

hi ubonjoe,

it's nice to know you remembered my post. thanks for your support too :D

we've got just about everything now, even the stuff from burma (which may have been our stumbling block), and we're planning to submit the application next week.

i just need to get an official translator to translate the id docs from burma.

i'll keep you updated about how it all goes on... :)
