I did set my personal picture and personal statement for my profile. However, I can never see it in the forum (only if I go to my settings).

Does anybody know why?

The picture that you see under your name in the forum is the Avatar and not the personal picture. Need to go to your profile again, left side Edit Avatar Settings.

Sorry, it’s probably just me, but I don’t get it…

It is simple, that picture and statement can only be seen by the person who " visits" your profile.
