Urgent! Can Someone Please Help Translate This Address?

Featured Replies

I'm having a very hard time translating this address in the correct format. I am sending a mail to this place and I don't know what the English translation is for this place. Because I usually send stuff to Thailand to families and they always give me the English translation one but this is a new place and it is not family but business. And I was hoping that someone in here will be able to give me the correct translation to this place in English. It will be great pleasure! Thank you :)

17/6 หมู 10 ต.คูบางหลวง

อ.เมือง จ.ปทุมธานี 12140

17/6 Moo 10

Thanon Kuubangluang

Amphur Muang

Pathum Thani

12140

"Thanon" should be "Tambon" I think.

Thank you very much for the translation! I really appreciate it. I have a question about the Amphur and Tambon ones. Is there a possible way that it can be shorten down? Like how it is written out in Thai with one letter. Will the mail still get there if I just put A for Amphur and T for Tambon?

if its for mailing why dont you just it and print it on a sticker and attach it to the parcel/letter ?... even though the Thai postal service is quite amazing in their abitlity to understand translated addresses, it would be much easier and safe to mail it in the original thai script....

Will it still get there if its being sent from America? Because of course they won't be able to read it if its in Thai. So would I be able to put the main address in English and then put the Thai address somewhere else for those in Thailand?

Write like this:

17/6 หมู 10 ต.คูบางหลวง

อ.เมือง จ.ปทุมธานี 12140

THAILAND

17/6 หมู 10 ต.คูบางหลวง

อ.เมือง จ.ปทุมธานี 12140

[Thailand]

Yes, it should.

Thanks for pointing out the error.

Exactly. The US postal service only needs to know it's going to Thailand. Once it's here, Thai post staff will take over and send it on its way to the final destination.

LOL @ "หมู"

It's "หมู่" which means group. Well, I think you all know what "หมู" means.

Yes. I do it all the time.

Hi this is how my Babylon translation program read it

17/6 pork, 10, a ditch Bang Luang, Muang district, Pathum Thani 12140 ,,,Pork and ditch :) and google transelate did this

17 / 6 Moo 10 Tambon Khu Bang Luang

Muang Pathum Thani 12140;

THAILAND moo,,,pig :D

Ran it on my program;

17/6 หมู 10 ต. คู บาง หลวง

17/6 mŏo 10 dtor koo baang lŭang

อ. เมือง จ. ปทุมธานี 12140

or meuang jor bpà-tŏom taa-nee 12140

I think the sticker is the best way, that's what I do when I dont know for sure.

Hasnt failed yet :)

Oink! Didn't spot the missing mai ehk there... :)

Still, even with that typo I am sure most postmen would possess the wherewithall not to try to insert your letter into pig number 10 rather than housing compound number 10.

sure, they will be fine with the little misspelling. might give them a bit of giggles as well.

Oh! Ok. So that means that I don't even have to bother to have the translated address on my package? I can just have the address in Thai but remember to put THAILAND on the package right? So that the people here know that it should be sent to Thailand. Because I don't know how these stuff work. If I put it all in English then those in Thailand might get confused, and if I put it all in Thai then those here will be confused. Thats why I didn't know how to do it.

Yep - that will be the best way.
