I also tried safari4 as it was recommended as "the fastest". At first was really fast. I don't know why later on not as fast. Finally ended up with checked FF again.

I was trying to update my FF but seems the newest version (3.5) is not available from the "Check For Updates" function. Will I have to reinstall?

Just download and install - will take over older versions and I only use about 6 add ons but they all work so seems less an issue than it used to be.

Click on the link that George provided. It will download and install on top of Firefox you are now using.

Thank you lopburi3 and Gary A

I just upgraded. It kept even the last session :D

I lost some Add-ons, but I can't say I'm sorry because I didn't even use them. And got updated the old ones.

I am glad safari4 showed up, as it will speed up some updates for other browsers :) and still my favourite FF

It was nice for the short time it lasted. Now the glitches start to appear. Sometimes it doesn't remember my site passwords. My Yahoo and Hotmail are the worst. Thai Visa is OK so far. I thought I had a work around by using Thai Visa as my home page, but that doesn't work either.

Reverted back to FF2. That 3.5 RC did something no good to my working FF... I am not talking about add-ons but overall performance!

I can only report from my site - FF2 runs faster and more stable!

I noticed some problems too :)

Can't close the browser by clicking the "cross" on top right, not even with shift+ctrl+W. Well, I just can't close it at all. I guess I'm gonna switch to the previous version.

[edit]

Just installed the 3.0.11 (last stable) - back to normal :D and waiting for the new one

For those who still want to try and use different language: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html#en-US

Downloaded it, closed the older vers., pressed extract, install, next, next, wonderful... no change what so ever, bookmarks...all there, faster? hmmm....maybe yes, but then I don't live with a stop watch...

Can't see any significant difference either...still uses lots of resources, up to 350 MB RAM when some 20 tabs open, not to mention the CPU load! Still, it is the only browser I know of with a decent adblock feature.

Hi.

I've updated to the RC1 on my office machine and noticed it starts WAY slower than the previous version (3.something), in fact it takes about 25 seconds to start (XP Home, Athlon 64 X2 5600+, 1 GB RAM). Many online videos don't play (but YouTube works fine) and about half my saved passwords have disappeared. Also some weird bugs are there, like pages going "back" by themselves or stuff that i just typed in some web form disappearing.

Am downloading RC2 now, let's see how that works.

Kind regards.....

I gave another shot. The installation process was faster and I had to restart my comp. after (in RC1 didn't have to). I still have the same problem: can't close the browser. I use genuine Vista (P2), 32 bit.

It is working quite smooth when I open the everyday sites, but will be waiting for the new release.

Hi.

For me, RC2 has kept all passwords instead of losing half of them and the bug where text entered into a form disappears seems to be gone as well.

However it still takes it's 30 seconds to start.

Best regards....

Using Firefox for the first time this week after weeks of frustration with IE 8. Boy that latest IE sucks big time.
