Ive got a doubt if a tourist can have a postal box in thailand, so in that way you can receive private correspondence without using the hotel or hostal address.

Its possible that?

For a Thailand Post POB, you just need to go into any post office (not all have POB service though), and give them your name and address.... they'll send you a letter to that address to confirm that you really live there. You then take that letter back to the post office and present your ID and they'll open it up for you. MUCH cheaper than the MBE, Postnet, etc. variety as it only costs 500 Baht per YEAR. Also, it cuts out one layer of 'plausible deniability' when your letters and packages go straight to the post office and into your POB. They can't blame the mailman on the motorbike, your neighbors, some pesky kids, or of course the folks that run the unofficial post office stores once someone signs for it at the post office and sorts it into your POB.

:)

p.s. this is for the "tourists" who pretty much live here all year round (except for visa runs) in 20-30 year stretches.

can you chose at which P.O. you want to have your P.O.BOX or can you only get one at the P.O. which is nearest to your residence (but maybe difficult to get reach) ?

which documents are required ? non-Immi-B Visa in a passport enough ?
