Two Arrested Following Attempted Bag Snatch In Central Pattaya

In the early hours of Tuesday Morning, Police Colonel Tirapon, the acting-Chief of Pattaya Police responded to a call from the victim of an apparent bag snatch which had just occurred in Soi 10 off the Central Pattaya Road. Two men were in custody when the Colonel arrived and spoke with Khun Wanidar aged 20 who was accompanied by her Australian boyfriend. She explained that she was on her motorbike when the pair decided to stop at a convenience store close to their apartment located in Soi 10. As she left the store and was starting up her motorbike, two men on a further bike pulled up beside her and attempted to snatch her shoulder bag. She resisted and screamed for help. Members of the public rushed to her assistance and the two men attempted to escape empty-handed but were blocked and detained by local motorbike taxi drivers. Khun Tirapong aged 19 and Khun Suriyong aged 20, who both have previous drug convictions were arrested and taken to Pattaya Police Station where they were charged with attempted theft.
